About

Esmeralda Martin started working in the fashion business at a very early age at the International Children’s Fashion Fair and with designer Francis Montesinos.

She started her career as a professional model in 1992, strutting down the catwalks of Paris, London, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona and New York. While living in New York she studied at the International Center of Photography and decided to turn her great passion for photography into a profession.

She returned to Madrid in 2003 as a photographer combining artistic, fashion work and illustrated reports. She has collaborated with prestigious magazines since then. She actively contributes to the community participating in projects in the United Nations and the Microcredits project with Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh.

Her book «Men in skirts» edited by IFEMA was exhibited in Casa Vacas, Madrid. Her photographic works have also been exhibited in a variety of locations, at the Fernelmont Contemporary Art Fair, Belgium (2011), at the High Culture Gallery, Maastricht (2012), at the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia and at the Diario de Ibiza, with her work «Between two worlds».

Over the years, Esmeralda has collaborated with renowned model agencies, such as SS&M and Traffic models, as an international scouter and booker.

She has recently opened a scouting agency, looking for the best talent and advising them throughout their careers. As a multifaceted artist and connoisseur of the fashion industry, she combines this work with photography and occasionally collaborates as a model.

As she says “I have been in fashion for over 25 years so inevitably I have learned a great deal about it. I love what I do because, with my experience, I approach this industry from very different angles to help people achieve their goals. People trust me and seek my advice. This is the main reason why I decided to open Scout-EM.”
